Attorneys who have North Carolina Bar licenses must take twelve (12) credit hours of NC Bar-approved CLE annually. Two (2) of these credit hours must be Ethics, one (1) must be Mental Health/Substance Abuse and nine (9) can be additional Ethics or Mental Health or General CLE.
Every third year, licensed attorneys must take one (1) credit hour of Mental Health/Substance Abuse. This course is taught one hour during the six hour session.

Paralegal requirements are changing in North Carolina. Please visit the web site www.nccertifiedparalegal.org for details. Once paralegals are certified, they must take six (6) hours annually to maintain their certification. At least one (1) of those credit hours must be Ethics, although they may choose to take Ethics for all six (6) credit requirements.
