Welcome to Dr. James W. Smith
Dr. Smith is an In-Prison Seminar Instructor and has taught seminars to inmates on Death Row at Central Prison, Raleigh, North Carolina; the Federal Correctional Institution, Butner, North Carolina and the Federal Maximum Security Prison in Leavenworth, Kansas.
Presently, Dr. Smith serves on the Executive Committee of the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance of Durham and Vicinity and the Triangle Steering Committee of Historical Black Colleges and Universities. He is a volunteer instructor at the Federal Correctional Institution, Butner, NC. He is the retired Pastor of Mount Calvary Baptist Church, Bahama, North Carolina. He is self-employed as a Consultant, Author and an Inspirational/Motivational Speaker.

Legal Awareness Issues
I will discuss issues that the church and/or Pastor need to be aware of; such as, negligence, agreements, etc.
Conflict Resolution
Often churches have conflict that may involve Pastor, deacons or membership. I will offer concrete suggestions on how to resolve these matters.
Finances/Taxes/Trustees
The legal and financial matters of a church primarily falls under the auspices of the trustees. I will offer ways for the church to best protect herself.
